The Man Rules
Sorry, I have to repost this here because it's just too funny!
(It's written from a man's point-of-view.)
The Man Rules
At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down
Finally , the guys' side of the story. ( I must admit, it's pretty good.)
We always hear ' the rules 'From the female side.
Now here are the rules from the male side.
These are our (men's) rules!
Please note.. these are all numbered '1 ' ON PURPOSE!
1. Men are NOT mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down.
You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday sports.
It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides.
Let it be.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.
That's what we do.
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are.
Don't ask us. (Now this one's just MEAN!)
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways
and one of the ways makes you sad or angry,
we meant the other one.
and one of the ways makes you sad or angry,
we meant the other one.
1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done.
Not both..If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit.
We have no idea what mauve is.
We have no idea what mauve is.
1. If it itches, it will be scratched.
We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say 'nothing,'
we will act like nothing's wrong.
We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to,
Expect an answer you don't want to hear.
Expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere,
absolutely anything you wear is fine... Really.
1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about
unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as football or motor sports.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!
1. Thank you for reading this.
Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight;
But did you know men really don't mind that?
It's like camping.
Pass this to as many men as you can - to give them a laugh.
Pass this to as many women as you can - to give them a bigger laugh.

My 2? Birthday!
My birthday weekend (last weekend) started off amazingly! Friday night my bf & I went to the Tumbleweed's CD release party over at the Fox & Goose. Right when they were getting ready to start their set, Kyle (the 'weeds drummer) surprised me by asking the audience to sing "Happy Birthday" to me! I must have turned five shades of red because Kyle said I looked embarrassed!
The next day I had Indie Sac Valentine to vend. I made some fun trades that morning and made some good sales...semi-freezing by the front door (but I survived!). My party followed later that night! (Pictures of that fun night will come later because all those pics were taken with my 35mm camera.) I was really excited to have time to hang with my best friends and family that night. Happily, I escaped "the Bday spanking" ritual...It got dicey there for a few minutes of me running around the house like a crazy person trying to get away from those with the devious agenda! And the night ended with a dip in the jacuzzi! Aaaahhh!
Sadly, I had to work on Sunday! Luckily it passed quickly!
On the actual day, I got majorly spoiled by my loved ones! Chris woke me up in the morning and surprised me with a brand spanking new digital camera! It's really shiny with 14.7 mega pixels and HD video! :-D
After that fun wake up, my sister took my bf & I out to the Fox & Goose for breakfast!
I happily sipped my mimosa and nibbled on my Olallieberry scone with Devonshire cream!
After breakfast, I got to pick up the latest issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 comic at the not so thrilling downtown comic book shop (I should have waited to go to Empire Comics...It's a faaaar cheerier atmosphere there! - I know better for next time! But I digress!) And then the hunt began to get my hair cut! I've been in desperate need for a cut for a looong time! After some searching Chris got in contact with our friend Gabby; and she agreed to "do" my hair! So we headed over to Chakras in Roseville!

I agreed to the full cut & style (Thank you Angel!) and I have to admit, it turned out really cute!
We then headed over to my niece's school to pick her up after her long day of classes. She was so happy to see me there, she had to introduce me to her new best friend & everything!
After that we headed back to the south area to my parent's house. We took advantage of the opportunity to snap a few more pictures in their backyard.

And then we headed over to Macaroni Grill for dinner! They sang Happy Birthday to me and I got to munch on some yummy chocolate cake and sorbet for dessert!

All in all, it was a fantastic birthday! Many many THANKS to all my friends and family for making it so special!!!!

Inauguration Day!
It's funny, I can remember back to my second grade year of school. It was the presidential campaign for George Bush Sr. & Michael Dukakis. My teacher, Ms. Aguirre, was having us vote for who we thought should be the next president. She had us lay our heads down & raise our hands anonymously. Our popular vote was for Dukakis. As she was erasing the chalk board that held the tally, she told us that the vote was leaning more towards Bush Sr., and he was our president.
A few years later, when I was in sixth grade, I remember walking over to the school library so that we could watch the inauguration of Bill Clinton. I remember being captivated watching the swearing in of the president on the big screen t.v. on the library floor!
When I was a sophomore in my U.S. History class I sat and listened as Mr. Reamer told my class about the death of JFK and the hope of the future with his brother, Bobby Kennedy. He told us that a lot of young people put their hopes and dreams into Bobby...and then how they were diminished by his assassination. When I was a sophomore, I couldn't imagine the awe and wonder about putting my hopes and dreams into a presidential candidate. That was until this year, when I saw Barack Obama step up to the plate.
It's amazing how watching this presidential inauguration brought tears to my eyes as I saw Obama become our new president! I can only hope that Obama will be able to run our country to the best of his abilities. And I can only dream that we find a few answers for the difficult times that we are facing!

Christmas with my BFFs!
Wackiness ensues whenever I hang out with my best girlfriends! This year for our Christmas gathering we heading over to Amanda's folks house for dinner and fun! Debi (Amanda's mom) cooked my favorite dish, Chicken Tetrazzini. We happily ate while watching The Muppet Christmas Carol.
Afterwards, the kids (my goddaughter Mia and Arron) made cookies that we named "Reindeer Poop"! While we waited for the cookies to bake, we broke open some Christmas Crackers read the jokes and trivia inside, played with the toys and sported some snazzy paper crowns!
Towards the end of the night, we chased the kids around until our stomaches hurt from all the laughing! Yeah, it was kinda cheeseball, but we had a great time!

Chickenpants!
This past Saturday I headed downtown for the 2nd Saturday "AVES: A Celebration of Birds in Art". We (Chris & I) headed over to Body Tribe first and found some awesome pieces by Caia Koopman, Krissi Sandvik, and Evie Turner just to name a few! I also stopped by the Absolutely Small table where I picked up this fun little creature:

(I made my chickenpants into a pin and wore it to work on Sunday...It made a few customers smile! :D)
Speaking of smiling, check out Absolutely Small's Chickenpants videos on YouTube! They're awesome! Great for children & adult amusement!!!
Anywho...after Body Tribe we visited Sara Jane & Co.. Then we tried to find another gallery
in West Sac and failed miserably! (It would have helped if I wrote down the correct address!)
So we headed for Tangent Gallery and met up with my sister & her family. After being bum
rushed by my niece, I ran into my friend (or rather she had her husband run into me, lol!), Melody,
and looked at her photo prints of hummingbirds in the gallery. We enjoyed some music, and then
headed over to El Novillero for dinner! All in all, it was a great night!
Petaluma Craft Mafia's Holiday Craftacular '08
What a fun show! Chock full of Mafia Mischief & a performance by Gabby Lala! Thank you to Cheryl, Elaine and all the lovely ladies at the show!!!
