Monster Mash

My niece, Marianna, just turned 13! To celebrate, we threw a Classic Movie Monster slumber party bash!

Welcome....

I was happy to find monster themed items, but I did have to do some hunting because it wasn't "Halloween" time!

Decorations:

(Wall decorations made using old Dracula comic pages I found at Empire Comics)

(Zombie mirror clings found at Evangelines.)

(Blood splattered gauze found at JoAnns. )

Food:

We dined on Mari's favorite Friday night dinner of PIZZA and a few other treats...

Braincicles!
(made with lemon lime soda & strawberry torani)

Swamp Monster candy jello/pudding yumminess!

I seriously went to 9 different candy stores to find all the candies used in this fabulous trifle concoction!

Angel couldn't wait to dig in!

Vampire Bites!
(Food ideas found in Little Monsters Cookbook by Zac Williams)

Games:

I kept the girls entertained with a few classic favorites with a twist!

Favors:

What party would be complete without a little swag for the guests?
I had a lot of fun making these!

Classic Necklaces
(Necklaces made by me with US stamps from 1997 (small), cardboard packaging (large), glitter glue, cardstock & diamond glaze)

(bags made by Mari & I using old Dracula & Swap Thing comics I found at Empire Comics)

Presents:

Mari couldn't wait to open her pile of goodies. She got a lot of fun stuff including some appropriately themed books - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Dawn of the Dreadfuls & Little Women and Werewolves!

Cake:

I ended up making her cake at the last minute. I probably could have done a better job given more time & supplies. Gratefully that didn't seem to matter! She enjoyed her bloody monstrosity of a cake - Yay!!!

We ended the night with a monster movie viewing of the classics (Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman). Luckily I found most of them at Dimple at fairly reasonable prices! The girls fell asleep in the wee hours, long after the adults had gone to bed. We all woke up in the mid morning to Angel making pancakes. All in all it was a monsterful bash!
